Laura trained at MISI Escuela de Formación Artística in Bogotá, Colombia, earning a BFA in Musical Theatre. During her studies, and long after her graduation, she was a member of their professional musical theatre company, MISI Compañia de Teatro Musical (now MISI Producciones).
She moved to New York City in 2009 to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In NYC, she has performed with several devised, movement, and physical theatre companies, performance artists, as well as several musicals, comedies and dramas.
In 2014, she was part of the Labyrinth Theatre Company 2014 Ensemble workshop. Laura is an active member of INTAR's Unit 52, and is currently brushing up her comedy writing and performing skills at the Upright Citizen's Brigade.
Laura, or as her students call her, Ms Yoda, lives in Brooklyn with Pepita the Hamster, who made her stage debut in the Winter of 2018. When she's not teaching or performing, she's attempting to write the next greatest Colombian novel, training to run a half marathon in 2020, and looking forward to the day that she lives in an apartment with her own washer and dryer and five dogs (I'm dreaming big, my friends).
